I got into music at 14: after 6 failed years of piano lessons as a child,
a friend asked, "did you consider playing guitar instead?" and the rest is history! I since
discovered that drums are my instrument of choice, but I ended up a jack-of-all-trades on the way,
recording, producing, and releasing various solo projects, bands, film and video game soundtracks,
and even more weirdness across all genres - and eventually, rediscovering my love for piano!
After studying drum performance for a year at BIMM London, I moved to Nottingham to study a
more general music course, scoring a 1st class degree and the Music Technology prize. At the same time, I began taking on lots
more project work, playing for (and occasionally session-ing for) various bands and other musical
projects, as well as teaching 20 hours a week.
As a graduate, I'm teaching even more, and working on even more projects! I'm currently mulling over a Music Masters qualification
in the next few years to go alongside the LTCL performance certificate I'm working on! I'm working constantly on one thing or another ‒ though I've
always got time and energy for one more student, one more album, or one more musical thing - send me a message on my Contact page and I'll fit you into my schedule!
Currently working with:
Highly technical prog-rock with a catchy melodic edge, led by Sam Higgins of Kyros fame.
Currently tracking for a likely 2020 album release, with followup gigs.
Heavy, doomy ambient drone music, and some soundscaping. It started off horrible, but it's gotten more and more listenable as time goes on.
An anonymous vocalist for Shadow of Acolyte described Tumerous Cloak of My Beloved as "one hour of sounds from behind the fridge," which is my greatest review yet!
There are several upcoming projects under the Radio Eroticism flag - the acoustic Earth Drowning album with Hannah Egan, and a soon-to-be-announced record with a small twist!

My second solo release, this time delving into progressive and space rock.
Most of the tracks are based on stories by other authors, including the 25-minute long title track,
The Jaunt, based on the Stephen King short of the same name.
An album of rather bog-standard progressive rock tracks was announced for 2020 release but later scrapped
due to lack of interest and free time. The project might get picked back up in future, but it is currently filed in "where are they now?"
Genre: Space rock

Shadow Of Acolyte is a Melodic Hard Rock/Metal band from the East Midlands, UK.
The band takes influence from both the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and Progressive Rock,
and was formed in 2008 by Aaron Gidney (guitars) and David Hitchcock (drums).
A two track demo was released shortly after to coincide with a support slot with Welsh
Progressive Rock band, MAN.
Writing for the debut full-length release began in 2009, with the Nicene Creed (325 A.D.) -
used in modern-day liturgy - as the concept. The album takes the listener on a journey through
the Nicene Creed with it's two instrumentals and eight lyrical tracks, fusing melodic vocals,
hard rock riffs and progressive rock passages.
